Students, parents, faculty, administration and the board of education celebrate the Class of 2022 during a special commencement ceremony on May 21 in the Upper Campus main gym during the 2 p.m. ceremony.
On Saturday, Class of 2022 graduates threw their caps in the air in the Upper Campus main gym at the first graduation since the combining of East and West and the height of the pandemic.
Originally, a ceremony with all seniors was to take place at McCracken Field. Inclement weather, however, moved the ceremony indoors. To accommodate the large class, one ceremony was held at 11 a.m. and one at 2 p.m.
“Whatever you do in life,” Principal Dr. Jeff Prickett said at the ceremonies, “do it knowing you are making a difference to someone.”
