Kylie Chisamore
Kylie Chisamore has been on the Messenger staff for one and a half years, and grew to really appreciate not only the class, but the effect journalism has on everyone.
“No matter the popularity, where you come from, or who you are, everyone is welcome to share their voice and stand up for what is right when they join the newspaper,” Chisamore says, “So student journalism has the power to make a change but to me it was always a family even if we never all got along.”
She graduated early and is working full-time and going to school to become a forensic scientist. Despite leaving MCHS early, she will always remember her high school experience.
“My favorite year of high school would probably be my junior year which I find strange because it is supposed to be our ‘hardest’ year in high school but the classes I took and the teachers and friends I had made it the most memorable year for me.”
Chisamore believes high school is a lesson in more than just an academic sense.
“I never truly understood why it was always referred to as “ the best years of our lives” because so many bad things happen during high school, we lose friends that we thought we would have forever and we are still trying to figure out who we are and who we want to be,” says Chisamore. “It shows us who we want to surround ourselves with and who we want to be.”
