To celebrate the seniors’ last 26 days of school, warrior activities made one last ABC countdown to tick down the days to their final day as high schoolers.
Warrior activities decided to give the 2026 senior class one last glimpse into their childhood.
In elementary school, every student had the opportunity to participate in their school’s ABC countdown. This countdown acted as a way to excite students for summer, giving them a fun way to end the school year.
Unfortunately, ABC countdowns ended once middle school began. This year, MCHS decided to give the senior class of 2026 a taste of nostalgia to end their high school career.
“I think it’s a fun thing,” says senior Ava Hunt, “it makes people happy and helps students with stress.”
In previous years, MCHS warrior activities did not have seniors participate in an ABC countdown.
The ABC countdown is a new addition that warrior activities made this year.
“I hope they continue the tradition,” says senior Sam Rydalch, “I hope this is the start of something new.”
Students have opinions of MCHS bringing the countdown back.
“Going into high school you’re treated like an adult,” says Hunt, “and as a senior you pretty much are an adult, and giving that sense of nostalgia and child-like experience may help people feel like a kid again, and lessen the stress of major decisions.”
“I got really excited about it,” says Rydalch, “but I wish more people would have done it.”
The class of 2026 is saying goodbye to high school with one more ABC sendoff.
The clock is ticking for seniors, but the memories of their last days of school will forever be remembered.
