When the viral “Costco Guys,” A.J. and Big Justice, were featured on “The Tonight Show” along with the “Rizzler,” they began sprouting what can only been known as “brain rot,” and Jimmy Fallon did not exactly respond accordingly. Their strange, awkward interactions may have brought up questions about Fallon’s character and the way he treats young guests.
Earlier this year, father and son duo, A.J. and Big Justice posted a TikTok trend in their local Costco, quickly gaining them fame on the internet. Recently, they started rating products and food at Costco on their “Boom or Doom” meter, which led to their release of a comical song, “We bring the BOOM!” featuring the “Rizzler.” Their growing popularity gained attention on a larger scale, bringing them into the spotlight.
“I love the Costco guys. I watch their videos all the time,” says MCHS senior Tennyson Gordillo, “their new song is so fire … we bring the BOOM.”
The Costco guys and their new friend the iconic Rizzler are adored by the internet, yet Jimmy Fallon seemed unimpressed and possibly even rude.
“The Costco Guys brought the energy, but the proceedings went viral as Fallon didn’t exactly match it,” says TV Insider. “According to fans, the host came off as dismissive and cut off his excitable guests.”
Even if it wasn’t Fallon’s intention, it’s clear fans of the Costco guys were taken aback by his rude demeanor during the segment and used it to tear him down. Many people, especially younger teens, began posting on social media about this, feeling bad for Big Justice and the Rizzler because they were just happy to be there in the first place.
According to the Daily Mail, a fan tweeted, “He doesn’t appreciate the joy or whimsy of the Costco guys and the Rizzler.”
Jimmy Fallon may be older and therefore unaware of some strange new internet trends, but fans see no excuses for him to act like this with his guests. Though he may not understand it, it seems people think he should at least listen and respect the guests he brings onto the show.
