The Chicago Cubs lost their opportunity to win the World Series this past Saturday, as the Milwaukee Brewers won game five of the National Division series.
After losing the first two games of the NLDS, the Cubs won two games in a row, giving themselves a chance at advancing to the National League Championship Series.
“When I saw the Cubs won the third and fourth game,” sophomore Jeremiah Gomez said, “I completely expected them to win the last one and advance into the NLCS.”
The Cubs had a 42% chance to win against the Brewers in the fifth game.
Even though the Cubs lost, Freshman Campus Principal Sean Sterner said, “The playoffs have been really exciting and I think they’ve done a good job playing together as a team.”
The Brewers are now playing the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLCS. The winner of the seven game series will advance to the World Series.
Gomez said, “I was hoping the Cubs would’ve won against the brewers so they had a chance at the world series”
After beating the Cubs in the NLDS the brewers now have a 45% chance of winning the world series.
After having a great season, going sixth in MLB with a 92-70 record and a 56.8% winning percentage, they made it to the NLDS after winning against the San Diego Padres 2-1 in the Wild Card. They lost to the Brewers 3-2 in the NLDS after putting up a fight in the last 3 games.
