Usher performs during halftime of Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday, February 11, 2024, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

This year’s Super Bowl viewers saw the Kansas City Chiefs defeat the San Francisco 49ers in only the second overtime game in Super Bowl history, the Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift love story playing out for the world to see and a halftime show for the ages headlined by Usher.

Usher’s halftime performance which featured roller skating backup dancers, people falling off stage, guitar solos and Lil Jon crowd surfing, was certainly memorable. It far and wide surpassed people’s expectations, with Usher’s performance of songs like “Yeah!” and “Nice and Slow,” proving that 20 year old songs from the 2000’s club craze can still go hard.

Some viewers were quick to point out songs that had not been included, particularly the track “Hey Daddy (Daddy’s Home)”. Many fans voiced their frustration, with some even claiming the set list was lackluster and a disappointment.

That being said, guest performances, particularly the performance of “My Boo” with Alicia Keys, caught everyone’s attention. Additionally, artists like Ludacris, Will.i.am, Jermaine Dupri and H.E.R. made appearances and ensured this performance would be one of a kind.

Usher’s talent as an eye catching performer, whether it be with dance or vocals, cannot be understated. This year’s Super Bowl halftime show will absolutely be remembered – perhaps not as the greatest, but certainly as fun and a good break from the neck and neck game that had sports betters across the world shaking in their boots.
