This limited-time meal collaboration between fast food restaurant Popeyes and “Five Nights At Freddy’s” was launched in Nov. to celebrate the release of Blumhouse’s newest supernatural horror film “Five Nights at Freddy’s 2.”
The Popeyes Five Nights at Freddy’s meal, called the “Freddy Fazbear Crunch Menu,” includes two box options: the Freddy Fazbear Box which is $7.99 and the Freddy Fazbear Deluxe Box which is $12.99. Both feature three classic or spicy chicken tenders with a garlic parmesan rub, garlic-crusted Cheesy Bites, and marinara sauce. The Deluxe Box adds a drink and a Cupcake Cup.”
The Blumhouse movie “Five Nights at Freddy’s” was released on Oct. 27, 2023, and “Five Nights at Freddy’s 2” releases Dec. 5. The lead-up and anticipation of the newest movie has got fans talking as trailers release. The cast is full of stars including Josh Hutcherson, McKenna Grace, Elizabeth Lail and more.
So, with all of this releasing, the Popeyes collab was the last thing fans were expecting.
“At Popeyes, we love playing with bold flavors, and what better playground than the world of ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s’” VP of Culinary at Popeyes, Amy Alarcon says on the Popeyes website, “Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria is an iconic part of the film, so we had a blast reimagining that fun, over-the-top energy through our menu.”
The marketing for this collaboration turned grabbing a regular meal into an experience.
“It’s our way of giving fans a delicious taste of the movie’s universe,” Alarcon says, “where that iconic Popeyes flavor meets a little bit of nostalgic pizzeria mystery.”
Reviews are seemingly positive thus far.
“It was actually pretty good,” junior Logan Srdich says, “I didn’t have any issues with it. I didn’t exactly expect it to be as good as it was, but it impressed me.”
The packaging, including the bags, boxes and cups are also all decked out with Freddy Fazbear designs.
“I liked the cupcake the best.” junior at MCHS Madison Rupert says, “It looked good and tasted good, and I even think it gave McDonald’s Grinch Meal a run for its money.”
Popeyes is also releasing exclusive collectible sticker packs featuring the film’s animatronics as collectible keepsakes for those true fans looking to commemorate this epic collaboration. Customers have to claim them at select Popeyes restaurants nationwide.
