On Sept. 8, Leadership In Action students went to training to prepare for Freshman Pride Camp at Camp Duncan in Ingleside that they were leading the following week.

On Sept. 8, MCHS’s senior Leadership In Action students bussed to Camp Duncan in Ingleside for a full day of bonding, team-building and leadership training. The students left the camp excited for the upcoming week’s festivities a Freshman Pride Camp, is a 20-year tradition MCHS that combines physical obstacles, team building and mental challenges.

LIA’s day at camp consisted of many activities involving skill and value development and all of the leaders grew closer as not only a class but a family. The LIA students also got a chance to practice for Freshman Campus’s Principal Greg Eiserman’s annual Warrior Fight Song competition.

LIA’s advisers Sean Sterner and John Lunkenheimer contributed to setting up activities and regrouping with the seniors to go over everything they experienced and learned in each activity. Both Stener and Lunkenheimer helped their students to prepare for their freshmen AIMs’ days at Pride Camp.

“My freshman AIM is extremely competitive, just like me,” says senior Leader, Alexis Wilde, when talking about her expectations and excitement to bring her freshman over to Pride Camp.

Pride Camp took place last week, Sept. 11-15.
