On May 16 and 17, MCHS’s choirs performed their annual Pops Concert at the Upper Campus auditorium.

The cadet and concert choirs, along with Surround Sound and guitar classes, performed interpretations of songs like “Bills, Bills, Bills” by Destiny’s Child, “Suddenly Seymour” from “Little Shop Of Horrors,” “Party In The USA” by Miley Cyrus and “The Chain” by Fleetwood Mac, intended to be recognizable tracks that the audience themselves could sing along to.

Being the last performance of the year, each vocal group focused on showmanship , with costumes, lighting and distinct instrumentation being involved. As well, the choirs got together in an encore after the show ended, singing together to say goodbye to the seniors, making for a bittersweet last hurrah for the ages.
