On the return of the VNC Honor Flight, MCHS and members of the community welcomed home the veterans

On Saturday August 25th, McHenry High School welcomed home those that served from their Honor Flight to Washington DC.

On August 15, MCHS hosted the Honor Flight Welcome Home Ceremony for veterans returning from Washington D.C. the previous weekend.

This event was held at the Upper Campus and was available for everyone in the community. The Honor Flight Welcome Home Ceremony was coordinated by the Veterans Network Committee of Northern Illinois.

The event was emotional and heartwarming. “I didn’t expect to feel as emotional as I was but I was getting choked up seeing the veterans return to their families and it was a very emotional event,” said Senior Carter Sites who went to the event because he wanted to experience an event like it.
