On Thursday, March 2 MCHS’s choir students performed at the annual Winter Choir Festival with the middle school students from Parkland and McHenry Middle School.

MCHS’s Surround Sound, Concert Choir, Cadet Choir, and Freshman Choir sang and MCHS’s guitar classes performed three songs each.  At the end, the choirs combined onstage with the middle schoolers to sing two additional songs.

“‘Baba Yetu’ was the powerful song,” freshman Maggie Demski, “because it was everyone in choir — the eighth graders and all the choirs together — sang it. The song is just a powerful and uplifting song because it means ‘prayer’ in Swahili.”
