MCHS students are getting ready for Battle of the Bands this Friday.
The bands are practicing and preparing for the battle. Working on setlists, and jamming out in the garages.
“We finalized a set list in december, leading up to the date, we schedule practice as much as we can,” says Ella Polasek, who will be performing on Friday.
A big part of battle of the band that a lot of people look forward to is the band called Staff Infection.
Curtis Menke, MCHS’s college and career counselor and frontman of Staff Infection, says,“ Our first performance was at a Spirit Rally in 2007, so we’ve been around for 18 years.”
Menke is the only original member still performing in the band, which tries to add new teachers and staff members each year.
“The whole point of Staff Infection is to entertain,” Menke adds. “We’re not perfect and we don’t pretend to be; that’s part of our charm.”
Nik Miller is the only freshman participating in battle of the bands in two bands, Skanonymous and Ordinary Hero.
As Miller puts it,”It’s not really stressful because it’s only really eight songs, but it’s definitely fun.”
