The open-world sandbox game “Minecraft” was earlier this month when the game’s developer Mojang Studios asked fans to choose a new mob to be added to the game. Players have gone crazy trying to get other players to vote the crab, penguin or armadillo mobs into the game.
“Over the years,” Minecraft.net writer Per Landon writes, “Minecraft has delivered a consistent line-up of life-changing, award-winning, mind-bending, content; ‘Minecraft 3D,’ ‘Snapshot 2014 ∞,’ and ‘One Block at a Time’ Update. But, this update is different from the rest with a snapshot that has been in the works since early 2017.”
In the past months, players were invited to vote for which new mob could be added to the game, by Oct. 17 but fans quickly found ways to hack the vote, which forced Mojang to calm the community.
“The fact that Mojang Studios is willing to put decision-making in the hands of the players just shows how much they care about their community,” Landon argues. “Or that is what I assume.”
The armadillo won, receiving over 40% of this year’s mob votes, out of over five million total, and he can be found in the savannah biome with the 1.21 update. If players scare the armadillo it will curl up and hide.
“The armadillo also drops a scute that you can use to craft a new type of armor, wolf armor!” says Liam Doolan in an article for NintendoLife. Which will give your pet wolf some extra protection.” The armor is a good addition for your pet to keep him safe while exploring.
Players supposedly love decision making, according to Mojang, and the voting shows how much the game trusts fans and how much the fans love the “Minecraft.”
