Universal is opening a new park called “Epic Universe” which is set to open on May 22 of this year.
The park will be Universals biggest, spreading over 750 acres, and housing five different sections or “worlds.”
This park will five new immersive sections which include a “How to Train Your Dragon” world, an addition to the “Harry Potter” world in the form of the Ministry of Magic, a “Super Nintendo” world, a celestial or space themed world and “Dark Universe,” which will revolve around monsters or horror stories.
“I’m very excited for the park to open,” says junior Sara Plaiss. “I’m looking forward to the new ‘Harry Potter’ section.”
There has been a lot of promotion surrounding the park, especially on social media as there were a select couple of guests allowed to come into the park before opening day.
“I really like ‘Nintendo,’” says junior Angel Lackey. “I’ve been seeing the new ‘Nintendo’ land a lot on social media.”
There are many reasons someone would want to go to a theme park, especially ones as immersive as Universal parks.
“Theme parks are a step away from everything that you do everyday,” says Plaiss. “You don’t have to think about homework, or tests, you just get to have fun.”
While getting away from homework is what a vacation is all about, there are other reasons to go to parks.
“It’s [theme parks] fun, it gives me something to do,” says Lackey,” and it’s an immersive experience that makes me feel like I’m in a game or movie.”
