The National Honor Society hosted the Cocoa Cram study session in the Upper Campus cafeteria on Monday from 6-8 p.m.
NHS member Jamison Shea said ,“It was actually my idea to help bring it back … And I heard a lot about sophomores needing some help when it comes to finals, so I thought it’d be a good idea to bring back this really fun event to help people study.”
NHS hosted this event to help students study for their finals. Teachers and members of the NHS were helping students.
NHS is an organization for high school students that empowers and recognizes well rounded students. The NHS provides schools with service, leadership, and character.
Shea said, “Because finals is tough for everyone, and I know the last time we had it, we got a lot of work done. So I think it’s a good way to help sophomores, freshmen, everyone alike.”
There was free hot cocoa for students to enjoy. There was a concession stand to purchase food. There were also therapy dogs and coloring stations hosted by connections crew.
NHS president Estrella Martinez Aguilar said, “Many kids in general don’t get the help from the teachers individually, due to the little amount of time there is. Therefore I think that we all come together and help out one another. We all come within a community and we all support one another.”
Students that went to this event had a great time studying and enjoying the dog and cocoa, and the tutors felt great helping out other students.
