The 2025 Grammys were rigged. Beyonce’s album “Cowboy Carter,” a country album, won Album Of The Year, an album that’s not even country and only has country sounds to it. Don’t get me wrong, Beyonce is a great entertainer, and is one of the best musicians of our time, but as to who should have won best album of the year, it should have undeniably been Billie Eilish with her album “Hit Me Hard & Soft.”
“Hit Me Hard & Soft” was streamed 72.7 million times the first day it was out, and 500 million times in the first week.
“Cowboy Carter” was only streamed 300 million times the first week. Beyonce’s album “Lemonade” probably should have won album of the year back in the day but it lost to Adele’s “25.” It really seems like the music academy just gave Beyonce the award just to make up for her never getting it.
Eilish’s album was just so good. Listening to it just takes you to another level. The sounds, her voice, and the lyrics are just so angelic. There are a couple songs like “The Greatest” and “Chihiro” that just take you to another place. They are not just pop songs. They are like art. That is what good music is.
Eilish’s music also really hits with this generation. The way she sings is almost like a whisper and the music itself is a little haunting at times. It’s really unlike music we have heard before. She is just so talented and really knows how to connect with her audience. It also doesn’t seem like she makes music to be mainstream or to be made for the radio. It seems much more personal.
To Beyonce’s credit, she is very talented and very popular. She makes great music and has put out a lot of great work. She definitely could have won album of the year with “Lemonade,” but lost to Adele that year.
Unfortunately for Eilish though, “Cowboy Carter” won album of the year. Maybe the academy was trying to make it up to Beyonce for her never winning album of the year. Maybe Jay-Z had something to do with his wife winning? Who really knows. All I know is that Eilish put out a beautiful album that will be hard to top and that should have won album of the year.
