On the day after last year’s Battle of the Bands , Jaymeson Green and his band Velomorta started preparing for the 2025 Battle. When musical competition finally came around again they were prepared.
MCHS hosted they’re annual Battle of The Bands where student bands perform 15 minutes at a time and in the end the judges decide who wins.
Drummer for Velomorta Maxwell Letizia said, “We competed in battle of the bands to have a good way to compare our skills from this year to last year, and we also wanted to kind of show off our skills for school.”
The opening act at Battle Of The Bands was the MCHS’s staff band Staff Infection.
Lead guitarist and vocalist for Velomorta Jaymeson Green said, “We played two originals and one cover. The cover song we performed was ‘Seek and Destroy’ by Metallica.”
Velomorta Placed 2nd by a 1 point difference between them and 1st. They even got recognition from Principal Dr.Prickett saying that they improved from last year.
Letizia said, “I wanted to join a band because I love music and I wanted to be able to play my favorite songs and make my own with my friends.”
During Velomorta’s whole performance the crowd was full of students cheering for them.
Bassist for Velomorta Kyler O’halloran says, “Performing at Battle of the Bands was really fun and being able to play with my friends made it even better.”
Velomorta was the only band that the crowd yelled for an encore but sadly they couldn’t perform longer.
