As current consoles age, companies are bound to release new, better ones. This year, the Nintendo Switch 2 is set to release, but it does not have fans fully convinced it’s going to be the great upgrade they all wanted.

When a new console releases, it also comes with new games. However, the console gaming industry has started to head in a direction that may drive fans away from the Nintendo Switch 2. Starting with the Playstation and Xbox companies, the console gaming industry has started to introduce console-exclusive games. The Nintendo Switch on release came out with “Pokemon: Let’s go Eevee” and “Let’s go Pikachu,” with a special console design as well. Nintendo may end up doing the same thing with the new Pokemon game coming out. They may also make the game exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2, which would force Pokemon fans to buy this new console.

With the release of the Nintendo Switch 2 trailer, features were displayed that may be questionable in addition to the new console. One of these features is the gliding controllers. Fans have speculated that it will have the ability to be used as a mouse. Fans are also getting upset that instead of focusing on the biggest issues, which is the joycon drift, they are making the controllers themselves drift.

The new console might not be all that it is hyped up to be. From what the community has seen, the console only seems to be slightly bigger and have magnetic joycon attachments. Fans are worried that with the magnetic attachments, if one were to break, they would have to buy a whole new console. This may cause fans to fight for a refund or a free fix, which Nintendo might not give.

Although it has negatives, the new console will have the ability to produce bigger and better games than ever, which may allow them to cross the threshold of creating the games that the community has been wanting for years.

The community does not know much about the console yet, but as fans await the full release of the console, they can only wonder if it will live up to the expectations that everyone is hoping for.
