Student Council will be hosting the annual SnowBall Dance on Jan. 24 at the Freshman Campus.
The third annual SnowBall Dance will be hosted on Saturday, Jan. 24. The mocktail hour starts at 6:30, and the dance will follow this from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
To gather spirit and excitement for the dance, Student Council has also set up spirit days following up to the dance.
On Tuesday, Student Council wants students to be comfy and wear pajamas. Wednesday, students are invited to write a silly lie on a white shirt and wear it to school, otherwise known as white lie day.
Thursday, team up with a friend and create a rhyme without reason. Friday, wear blue and white to get into the winter wonderland spirit.
Warrior Nation Chair Isabella Giamberduca, explains Student Council’s role in hosting the dance.
“We have to order all decorations,” says Giamberduca, “and then on the day of the dance, we have to wake up early and start decorating it, and then we stay after to help clean up.”
Alongside hosting the dance, Student Council is also organizing a raffle for juniors and seniors.
Giamberduca explains the raffle as an attempt to bring in more juniors and seniors to the dance.
According to Giamberduca, if a junior or senior purchases a ticket to the SnowBall, they will enter a raffle for a free ticket to prom.
More new things are coming to the SnowBall this year.
John Aubert, English teacher and Student Council advisor, states that the mocktails provided before the dance are going to be cotton candy and pomegranate flavored.
“I think it’s to make sure kids are, you know, their mental health is happy, right? They have something to look forward to,” says Aubert, “community, things to make, memories with friends and just enjoy being a part of what MCHS has to offer.”
