As of April 23, Sterner is announced as Freshman Campus Principal for the 25-26 school year.
“This is a great opportunity for me,” Sterner said. “When I interviewed I talked about how my excitement level is absolutely through the roof!”
Going from different campuses and job titles has its struggles, but Sterner feels that his time as Summer School Principal has prepared him for this future role.
When Dr. Jeff Prickett announced his departure from MCHS, Eiserman was appointed as the Upper Campus Principal.
“I think Mr. Sterner will do a great job here at the Freshman Campus,” Eiserman says. “He understands the importance of the eighth to ninth transition having run summer school and working with Leadership in Action. He brings a wealth of experience to the position which will serve him well.”
Students are excited to see what the new principal will bring, and how his past has shaped the future for his career.
“I think he’ll be a great principal,” says senior Kaydence Hendricks, “he’s very well managed and organized and helps his students greatly.”
Sterner is looking forward to this new opportunity. Sterner plans to continue the work Eiserman has started while also implementing some new goals of his own.
“My goal is to continue that [what Eiserman has started],” Sterner said, “and then for us to improve wherever we see that we need to move forward.”
“It is important that Mr. Sterner feels empowered to lead in his style,” Eiserman says. “I do think there are some initiatives that he can look to continue and potentially improve.”
Sterner is excited to step into this new role and take some things from Eiserman’s career while also being his own person and his own leader.
Time will tell what the new Freshman Campus Principal will accomplish.
