The theme for the Homecoming 2025 was announced on Friday. The announcement video for the theme was something new and brought a lot more excitement to the revealing of the theme.
The Homecoming theme for this year, “A Night Beneath the Waves,” has an all new vibe and color pallete, giving Student Council more flexibility for the decor and overall look and feel of the dance.
“The biggest factor was definitely the color schemes,” Student Council President Andy Almaras says. “The past two years the colors have been the same and we decided to switch that up for a new and more fun feel.”
Bringing a new feel to the dance is something the council wanted to do to get students more excited, and hopefully have a better outcome in attendance than the last couple years.
“I’m most excited for the decorations of the dance,” Almaras says. “As president I have bigger ambitions and want what’s best and more fun for the students.”
Student Council advisors like letting the students take control of planning, which means advisors get to sit back and help the students’ ideas come to life.
“Obviously we needed to keep an eye on the budget and logistics,” John Aubert, a Student Council advisor, says, “but the kids really do a great job with being as creative as they possibly can to ensure we have a new, fun and inviting experience at Homecoming.”
Homecoming has become a staple to students, they look forward to it every year. With all the activities like the football game, spirit week and of course the dance itself, the theme can mostly make or break whether the students put their effort into making it fun for everyone.
“Seeing this year’s theme had me excited because it was something new,” says Gabe Navarro, junior at MCHS. “There’s many different colors for clothes and decor and the spirit week has a lot of possibilities too.”
