In this episode of the Hall Pass, learn more how congress avoided a government shutdown, a shooting that shut down Johnsburg schools, and upcoming parent teacher conferences

The government was set to shut down on Nov. 17, but the Senate passed a bill on Wednesday giving Congress until  Jan. 19 to pass half of the budget. The other half of the budget must be passed by on Feb. 2 or risk another shutdown.

Tuesday around midnight, a man was found shooting a gun inside a home in Johnsburg off of Filmore and Hamlin Road. There were six cops cars, a SWAT team and police officers in tactical suits around the neighborhood. All of District 12 was closed Wednesday due to police activity.

On Nov. 20-21, parent teacher conferences will be held through the online platform Meet the Teacher. Time slots are 5-8 p.m. on Nov. 20, and 8-11 a.m. on Nov. 21.
