In today’s episode of The Highlights, the Messenger’s sports recap, join us while we update you on all of MCHS’s athletics this week as spring sports continue

Here’s MCHS’s athletic’s update for last week:

Varsity baseball lost to Huntley on April 5 With only two runs in the game Huntley beat the Warriors by 5. Then on April 6, the Warriors had a redemption game winning 3-0 against the Batavia Bulldogs. Scoring once in the fourth inning and twice in the fifth. We played Huntley again and lost 3-8 on April 8. The next day, the Warriors played Hampshire and won 4-2. On Wednesday, the varsity team played Cary-Grove and went 9-5; the team played Mundelein yesterday and will be playing Cary-Grove today. Varsity is currently 6-2.

JV baseball lost their double-header games against Batavia on Sunday. The Warriors scored 4-7 the first and 6-7 the next game. On April 8, the JV team played Huntley and won 13-8. Then on April 9, the Warriors played Hampshire and won 2-1.  The JV team also had a game on Thursday against Mundelein and another one today against Cary-grove. JV is currently 6-2 in their season.

Varsity softball had a game on Sunday April 6 against Cary-Grove. They won a close game 11-10. With a single run in the first inning, one more run in the second inning, three runs in the third inning, three runs again in the fourth inning the another three in the sixth inning. The girls had a game on April 8 against Dundee-Crown and won 4-0. They also won on April 10 against Crystal Lake Central Thursday and, today, they will play Antioch. The girls are going 4-1 in their season.

The JV softball team played Dundee-Crown and won 11-1 against them on April 8. Today, they will have a game against Grayslake. JV is currently 4-1 in their season.

Varsity boy tennis had their first match against Huntley on April 9 and lost 1-6. They also had a match against Cary-Grove on Apirl 11t. The JV team also had their first match on Tuesday against Huntley but lost 3-4. JV also competed against Cary-Grove on thursday.

Varsity girls soccer went head to head against Hampshire on Apr,il, the girls went lost 3-1. On Thursday, the girls also have a game against Huntley. JV played against Hampshire on April 9 and they lost 5-1. Just like the varsity girls they had a game on Thursday April 11th. Varsity is currently 2-4 and JV 0-2 in their season.

The varsity girls lacrosse team kicked off their season on Wednesday against Huntley. The Warriors lost 22-2. There next game is today against Crystal Lake Central.

Varsity boys lacrosse had a game against Grant on April 8 but lost 16-8. They also had a game yesterday against Huntley.  Their next game will be on April 13 against Libertyville. Varsity is 0-3 currently in their season.

The track team competed at a co-ed meet on April 5 and went well for both the boys and girls. Girl placed second and boy placed sixth.
