The Highlights | April 5, 2024

In this first episode of The Highlights, the Messenger’s sports recap, join us while we update you on all of MCHS’s athletics during the week of April 5 as spring sports kick into high gear

Here’s MCHS’s athletic’s update for last week (and spring break):

On March 27, the varsity baseball team and boys water polo both had games.

Baseball went 8-2 against Plainfield North high school. We scored 2 times in the first inning, 3 times in the third inning, 2 times in the forth inning and once in the 6th inning. They’re going 3-0 in their season. 

The water polo team had a really close game but unfortunately lost 12-13 against lake forest high school, they are going 0-4 in their season

March 28, girls varsity soccer and junior varsity baseball team both competed.

Girls soccer had a game against Warren township but lost 0-5. The team is going 2-2 in their season 

JV baseball went 5-2 against Grayslake Central. They are also going 3-0 this far in their season

Moving off from the spring break games, Warrior athletes have had a busy week back. 

Baseball got canceled and rescheduled this Monday due to this icky Illinois weather.

Badminton has a invitational meet this Saturday at Maine East High School.

Girls soccer had a game on Wednesday and won 10-1 against Liberty high school, They also have a game on Thursday against Round Lake High School.

The track team has their first co-ed home meet today against Antioch, Grant, Lakes, Libertyville and Vernon Hills

Softball has their first conference game against Cary-Grove on Thursday and another one on today against Hampshire. They also will be competing in a double header at lakes high school on Saturday.

On Tuesday, boys water polo won 23-12 against Hoffman Estates, making their record 1-4. They also have a game on Thursday again Warren Township and one of Saturday against Lake Forest.

Boys lacrosse had a game on Thursday against Hampshire high school and has another against Grayslake central on Saturday
