Donald Trump announced plans for the 250th anniversary of the United States in 2026 during a speech on July 4, 2020, at Mount Rushmore.
Big cities like Philadelphia will likely have celebrations, parades, and fireworks to celebrate the anniversary. There might also be people reenacting big historical events, such as the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
Donald Trump said that during the anniversary, “We will honor our great history, our great heroes, and the great traditions that make America the greatest nation on Earth.”
Some places might have parades that have veterans and active military soldiers in the parade.
“As we approach the 250th anniversary of our nation,” said Trump. “We must remember the sacrifices made by those who came before us and the greatness that is still to come.”
Many towns are doing fairs and festivals, showing American culture through music, food, and art.
“There has never been a nation like ours,” said Trump. “As we approach this anniversary, we must honor our history and our heroes.”
