On MatPat’s final episode of The Game Theorist on March 9, the influencer talked about his own run on YouTube, thanked his fans and showed them where to follow him moving forward.

Matthew Patrick, known online as “MatPat,” has been the creator of many successful channels including Game Theorists, Film Theorists, Food Theorists, Style Theorists, and GT Live. These have not only entertained audiences but also inspired countless others to follow their dreams and pursue their passions.

Fans were shocked and devastated at the news of his retirement in January, but they also expressed their thanks and respect for years of content entertainment.

MatPat’s influence on the internet is undeniable, and his story serves as a reminder that anything is possible with dedication and perseverance.

In a Tweet, YouTube creates a recap video paying homage to all of MatPat’s accomplishments and inspiration on the Youtube community alike.

MatPat’s inspiring efforts have helped fellow YouTubers achieve success by featuring MatPat in their content on various channels across the platform and by sharing creators’ content via The Theorist Channels. His contributions have truly transformed the community for the better.

Matpat’s accomplishments do not only influence the YouTube community but also includes raising $3 million via YouTube collaborations on GT Live for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, and numerous other charitable contributions.
Thanks to MatPat’s influence, a community closer to home has been inspired and positively impacted.

“Watching his theories gave me new perspectives on what he covered,” said senior Kadin Henige. “On top of that, I’ve been watching him since the beginning so it is tough watching childhood Youtubers retire.”

Many childhood YouTubers are retiring to focus on their private lives and their growing families.

“I think it’s great that he’s retiring for his family,” said senior Alexis Wilde. “MatPat has given so much to the gaming community that his legacy will live on.”

His legacy on the gaming community, specifically Five Nights At Freddy’s, has really been the most memorable mark on the Theorist community, creating over a thousand videos covering the FNAF games and even making a famous cameo in the FNAF movie.

“He was truly the main contributor to FNAF, with Markiplier and other YouTubers following,” said Henige. “I don’t think that FNAF especially would be the same as it is today without MatPat.”

MatPat has truly made a permanent mark on the gaming community. Through thousands of theories made and mysteries unraveled, his passion ignited the minds of every theorist that watched his content, his insights sparked intelligent conversations, and his spirit resonated with countless people. As MatPat embarks on a new chapter, his legacy will endure, and his impact will be everlasting throughout YouTube– but hey, that’s just a theory.
