ShamROCKS the Fox will take place this year March 14-16 in downtown McHenry,. There will be a parade, a river dying and shops that open up by the Riverwalk Shoppes.
ShamROCKS the Fox is a big event that has happened in McHenry since 2018. It spans over three days. There are many events that take place and many people come together to enjoy this event.
McHenry Chamber of Commerce member, Molly Ostap talks about some of the events that will take place during this year’s Shamrock the Fox.
“There will be a lot of bands and the fox market will be happening down at the riverwalk shops,” says Ostap. “That will include ten different pop up stores that are going to be down there.”
“On Saturday, we’ve got the 5k Shamrock and the river dying in the morning,” Ostap continued. “Then music and food trucks and everything continues on through the day.”
Sophomore Erin Gitchell has been attending this event since she was very little and talks about what she likes about it.
“I’ve gone to the parade since I was little,” says Gitchell. “I normally hang out and get food, it’s a fun time.”
At the event this year, there will be many pop up shops down the riverwalk.
“We’ve got an artist who does paintings, a barbecue sauce company,” says Ostap. “We have Trick Hats, which are like patches that she does a whole bunch of different patches on hats.”
