This year’s “Tale as Old as Time” prom will be hosted on April 28 at the Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center. Students are expected to attend their full school schedule the day of prom, and there will be no excused absences.

Students will be released from school at 10:40 a.m., which will give those attending prom enough time to get ready and be back at the school by 5 p.m. 

From 5:00 to 5:30 p.m., students will arrive and check in to the bus lines with their teacher chaperone.

From 5:30 to 6:00 p.m., the buses will load and depart for the venue. Students who miss the bus will not be allowed to attend prom. Everyone is required to take the bus there and back. 

Students will arrive at the venue from 7:00 to 7:15 p.m. and coronation will occur from 7:15 to 7:30 p.m.

Then, dinner will follow. All meals include a salad, pretzel roll and strawberry shortcake, as well as unlimited servings of the venue’s signature drink. Food options for the main course include chicken parmesan or vegetable pasta.

The dance portion of prom will happen from 8:15 to 11:55 p.m. Then buses will depart back to Upper Campus at 12 a.m. and should arrive back to the school at 1 a.m. 

At prom, all school policies and penalties apply, so no alcohol, tobacco or drugs will be tolerated. If students are caught with substances or under the influence, they will be sent home and will face additional consequences per school policy.

Students attending prom were sent an email with an assigned bus and table for prom. They also have been sent a checklist to review before the day of prom. 

During the week, there are spirit days leading up to the “Tale as Old as Time” prom inspired by “Beauty and the Beast.”
