Student athletes of MCHS have committed to colleges and universities to continue their athletic and academic careers

As MCHS students move on from high school and into the next chapter of their life, some students are continuing the sport they have played for years. These students are committed to the college of their choice for athletics and academics.
Lleyton Grubich will be playing baseball at McHenry County College, where he plans to get an associates degree in the arts. He choose to go to MCC because he felt it was the best option for him to excel in the next level of baseball.
Madalynn Friedle will be playing basketball at Ripon College, where she plans to major in sports management and minor in coaching. She chose to go to this college because she felt the most at home and comfortable when visiting the school and meeting her future teammates and coaches.
Sarah Duginske will be playing soccer at Western Kentucky University, where she plans to major in nursing. She chose to go to this university because of the education and sports opportunities she will be able to have there.
Alyssa Moore will be running cross country and track at Murray State University, where she plans to major in physical education. She chose to go to this university because she loved the team and environment along with the educational opportunities she will have.
Derrick Hozey will be playing baseball at Edgewood College, where he plans to major in engineering. He chose this college because he viewed it at the place with the best of both for baseball and engineering.
Emma Stolzman will by playing softball at the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point, where she plans to major in nursing. She chose this university because to her it felt like she belonged there and the school is flexible so she can play softball while a career in nursing.
Briggitte Galindo will be running cross country and track at Judson University, where she plans to get a bachelors in architecture. She chose this university because of the schools message on diversity and inclusion.
Shania Houston will be playing golf at Marian University, where she plans to major in nursing. She choose to go to this university because of wanting to play golf, but also since they have a large nursing program.
Abigail Geis will be playing softball at University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point, where she plans to major in kinesiology to specialize in physical therapy. She choose to go to this university because of their physical therapy program that has a lot of opportunities and will be able to get her doctorate degree with an extra two years of schooling.
Kennedy O’Brien will be playing lacrosse at Lewis University, where she plans to major in high school education or marketing. She choose to go to this university because her travel lacrosse coach is the coach at the school, and she felt the team was very welcoming like a family.
Lynda Rotundo will be running cross country and track at the University of Illinois – Urbana-Champaign, where she plans to declare a major in environmental science. She choose to go to this school because of the coaches and team, and she feels that they already believe in her as an athlete and student.
Emerson Gasmann will be playing soccer at Loras College, where she plans to major in aeronautical and aerospace engineering. She choose to go to this college because of the schools internship opportunities with NASA for their stem programs, and she felt this can be her opportunity to make a difference in the sports community.
Frank Smiesko will be playing football at the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh, where he plans to major in kinesiology. He chose to go to this university because he loved the campus, location, feel of the school, and he wants to play in the competitive conference that Oshkosh is in.
Elijah Nothdorf will be playing football at the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh, where he does not have a decided major but has been considering majoring in finance. He choose this university because they have a good business program, and he felt the football coaches were welcoming and genuinely cared about him a person.
Cooper Cohn will be playing baseball at the University of Illinois Springfield, where he plans to major in business. He choose to go to this university because of the coaching staff and since it is a sister school of University of Illinois so he will receive the level of education and degree.
Dominick Caruso will be playing football at North Central College, where he plans to pursue secondary education and coaching. He choose to go to this college because of the location, players and coaches, values of the football team, and the academic value of the school.
Jacob Zarek will be playing football at Roosevelt University, where he plans to major in kinesiology. He choose this university because he views the school as his best opportunity to further his education and athletics.
Kendall Krumsee will be playing volleyball at McHenry County College, where she plans to major in speech pathology or physical therapy. She choose to go to this college because she feels it will provide her with time to figure out what she wants to do in life and will save her lots of money versus a four year school. She also choose the school for their volleyball program since she feels the coaches have a true passion for teaching athletics, making them better, and helping with transferring schools.
Regina Anelli will be playing volleyball at Harper College, where she plans to get an associated degree in special education. She plans to transfer to the University of Illinois Urbana Champagne after getting her associates degree to earn her masters degree. She choose to go to this college because the head coach of the volleyball team is her coach for the club season so she has already built relationships with the coaches and players, and she wants to stay closer to McHenry.
Peyton Stinger will be running track at Illinois Wesleyan University, where she plans to pursue her passion of working with kids. She choose to go to this university because she liked the location and coaches of the school.
Edward Juergensen will be playing football at St. Norbert College, where he plans to major in accounting to become a certified public accountant. He choose to go to this college because he feels he can start his freshman year most welcomed at the school and that he will have facilities to help him grow on and off the field as well as in the classroom.
Angelina Bakewell will be running track at Elmhurst University, where she plans to major in biology to become a dental hygienist. She chose to go to this university because she likes the ares and the girls on the team who have made her feel more comfortable. She also choose the school because of the coaching staff who have made her feel like they care more about her as a person than just viewing her as an athlete.
Evan Griffiths will be playing football at Carroll University, where he plans to major in physical therapy. He choose this university because he loves their physical therapy since it is considered a fast track into the career, and the football team has excited him due to his view of it being upcoming and good.
Lynette Alsot will be playing volleyball at Olivet Nazarene University, where she plans to major in special education to pursue a career in teaching. She choose this university because she believes it will provide her with the largest educational opportunities, and it is of a size that she was looking for. She also choose this school because the girls on the team seem like great people and positive to her when she visited.
Christopher Moore will be wrestling at the University of Illinois Urbana Champagne. He choose this school because when he took his first visit he enjoyed the campus and atmosphere of the school.
Jacob Wagner will be playing baseball at the College of Lake County, where he plans to major in secondary education. He choose to go to this college, located in Grayslake, because of the affordable cost of the school.
Kevin Keyfauver will be playing lacrosse at Carroll University, where he plans to major in physical education. He choose to go this university because their education department and lacrosse program.
