This morning, the Food and Drug Administration fully approved Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccination for everyone 16 years of age and older.

When the vaccine was first rolled out in December of 2020, it was approved for emergency use only, as the world was in desperate need due to COVID-19.

The Pfizer vaccine is the first coronavirus vaccine to be officially approved by the FDA.

After undergoing months of testing and research by the FDA, approval confirms that the vaccine is safe and effective for the general public.

Medical experts hope official approval by the FDA will be extended indefinitely and cause even more people to get vaccinated for COVID-19.

The Pfizer vaccine is over 90% effective in protecting someone against COVID-19.

This vaccine is still approved for emergency use in people younger than 12-16. Pfizer and other pharmaceutical companies hope to have extended emergency authorization for ages 12 and younger this fall.

Walmarts and COVID-19 Vaccination clinics are accepting walk-ins and it can be administered free of charge.
